Where to find Critical Games:
Picture
Scripted is a short game made with the Unreal Development Kit (UDK), that pokes fun at a lot of the more frowned upon conventions of modern games, much like Epic Games own 'Duty Calls' parody of the modern military FPS genre.
Concepts such as receiving achievements for achieving nothing, corridor shooting, ridiculous linearity, the lack of challenge, and heavily scripted events that essentially take the player out of the equation entirely are all in here.

It was designed as a piece of light-hearted commentary, and should not be taken as an attack on any particular game or developer (there were a lot of games that I pulled influence from, and many more that I've seen use these conventions poorly in the current generation).
My only intention was to point out how silly some of these things can be if used poorly, and how important player control and agency really are when creating a fun, interactive experience.

Music: Kevin MacLeod

This is a not for profit project.

Note: If you enjoyed the music in this game, I highly recommend checking out Kevin MacLeod's website here.
He's an excellent composer and incredibly generous, offering hundreds of top-quality compositions for free.
Note 2: After you complete the game, see if you can find the hidden warehouse on the outskirts of town...
